While some reed suppliers indicate their oboe reeds are "handmade" or even "professionally finished", they fail to mention they start with a mass-produced, machine-profiled reed which is then merely touched up by hand. These kinds of oboe reeds tend to be inferior in quality despite being able to be finished and delivered faster. We take pride that our reeds are handmade from start to finish, from tube cane to performance status. Naturally it takes more time, but we think it's worth it.
